Power factor correction capacitor sizing is one of the most common calculations in industrial electrical design. This pocket card provides the essential formulas and lookup tables. The front covers the reactive power formula Q = P × (tan φ1 − tan φ2), capacitor current Ic = Q / (√3 × Un) for three-phase, a cos φ correction factor table from 0.70 to 0.95 target PF with kVAr/kW multipliers, and the economic PF target (≥0.90 per most utility tariffs).
